The 2017 MLS Cup playoffs take a break until November 21, when top-seeded Toronto FC visits Columbus Crew SC in the Eastern Conference final.

On Sunday, first-place host Herediano (14-5-0, 47) will look to extend its unbeaten streak to open the season 20 games with a visit to third-place Perez Zeledon (9-6-4, 33).  The Florenses have the best away record this season (6-3-0), conceding only four goals in nine matches.

While table-topping Alianza (11-7-0, 40) hasn’t lost in the 2017 Apertura, all eyes promise to be on second-place Santa Tecla (8-7-3, 31), which will look to make it four wins in a row with a visit to 10th-place Sonsonate (2-9-7, 15).

Only three points separate first from fourth place in the 2017 Apertura.  On Saturday, second-place Marathon (9-1-5, 28, GD+2) will provisionally go to the top of the table with a win over UPNFM.  The other key matches will be played on Sunday: first-place Olimpia (8-4-3, 28, GD+11) visits eighth-place Real Sociedad (4-4-8, 16); third-place Motagua (7-6-2, 27) hosts ninth-place Platense (5-1-10, 16); and fouth-place Juticalpa (7-4-5, 25) welcomes sixth-place Vida (5-6-5, 21).

In the match of the weekend, first-place Arnett Gardens (5-3-0, 18) will travel to second-place Portmore United (5-1-2, 16).  Arnett Gardens is riding a three-game winning streak, while Portmore has scored 13 goals in winning three of its four road outings.

The 2017 Liga MX Apertura is idle until November 17.  With one round left in the regular season, Monterrey (10-4-2, 34), Tigres (9-5-2, 32) and Club America (8-3-5, 27) have already sealed three of the playoff spots.

Second-leg matches in the 2017 Apertura semifinals will be played this weekend as Real Esteli hosts Managua (agg: 1-0) on Saturday and Walter Ferretti visits Diriangen (agg: 0-1) a day later.

Tauro FC (9-6-2, 33, GD+13), Plaza Amador (9-6-2, 33, GD+11) and Arabe Unido (8-8-1, 32) have already secured 2017 Apertura playoff berths.  The last spot will be earned Saturday by either fourth-place Chorrillo FC (6-7-4, 25, GD+4) or fifth-place Atletico Veragüense (7-4-6, 25, GD-3), both of which have 25 points.  Chorrillo will host ninth-place Santa Gema (3-5-9, 14), while Veragüense visits last-place Alianza (2-5-10, 11).

The TT Pro League is idle until November 19.  North East Stars (11-3-1, 36) currently occupy first place.

The 2017 MLS Cup playoffs take a break until November 21 with Conference final openers.  Top-seeded Toronto FC visits Columbus Crew SC in the East and the Houston Dynamo hosts Seattle Sounders FC in the West.
